Use this template to complete LOA assignments. Remember I use Turnitin to check for similarities in postings. So, be sure to write responses in your own words. Expect to have some similarities in the response, since the template has words placed in the form already (pre-loaded). I will adjust for the similarity with pre-loaded words in template. Score will reflect percentage of similarity in student’s posted response, minus pre-loaded words. For instance, if the similarity report in Turnitin shows 49%, any highlighted pre-loaded words will be removed and subtracted from the percentage. Say 20 per cent of the 49 % was due to preloaded words, 29% similarity remains. That means 29% of points will be deducted from the possible 80 points for the assignment. Of course, the scoring of the content posted will also come into play for the final score of the assignment. In other words, if the content is not in alignment with the topic, there will be other deductions beside the similarity percentage. Give quality responses to the LOA assignments and you will do well. I often have students who do such quality work, they receive the full 80 points (no similarity and quality content).
